Movie: 300

The film 300 is getting a lot of attention and the buzz is huge. I could see it pulling in Lord Of The Rings numbers if this keeps up. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but for 80/1 I'm putting down $10 to win $800 at Intertops that it pulls off an upset and has the biggest weekend.

Its looking like it will be around 30 but thats nowhere close to what will be needed to beat SpiderMan, Shrek, Harry Potter, Pirates etc.

Those movies could be looking at 100 million opening weekends. Last Pirates opened to a record 130+ if I recall correctly.

Take the 10$ and donate it to charity rather than Intertops.

No way this pic does anywhere near LOTR's numbers. It's an interesting looking movie but you can't compare it to LOTR which had a large audience even before it became a movie. My prediction is that "300" does between 20 to 30 million opening weekend depending on how many screens it opens on.
